Addressing climate change
The London Fruit and Wool Exchange is one of the largest and most significant developments in London, featuring a mix of office, retail, restaurant, café, SME, and community spaces. Drakes Renewables were commissioned to design and install a 105kW solar system as part of the project’s sustainability efforts.
The system was designed to help achieve BREEAM credits and comply with the London Plan’s requirements. The optimised system includes enhanced efficiencies, module-level monitoring, and seamless integration with the building’s fire alarm system, ensuring both operational excellence and safety. The installation aligns with the project’s ambitious sustainability goals while providing long-term energy savings.
As Senior Building Manager at the London Fruit and Wool Exchange, I’ve been extremely impressed with Drakes Renewables' ongoing service and support for our solar system. They’ve regularly serviced and maintained the system, ensuring everything continues to run smoothly. Whenever issues have arisen, their team has been quick to resolve them, providing excellent support. Additionally, Drakes supplied spare panels with the original installation, which allowed us to swiftly replace two broken panels with minimal disruption. The system has been running efficiently for over 8 years, and we’re very satisfied with both the system’s performance and the quality of service we continue to receive.
