Addressing climate change
Hoe Valley is a new secondary school and leisure facility in Woking, and Drakes Renewables were commissioned to design and install a solar system to help achieve BREEAM credits and ensure compliance with the London Plan.
To maximize energy generation throughout the day, a combination of south, west, and east-facing panels was selected, ensuring that the building benefits from useable energy at various times. In addition, a monitoring portal has been implemented, allowing both stakeholders and pupils to track live energy generation. This feature not only supports sustainability goals but also serves as an engaging educational tool for the school community.
